The swivel option is not practical when using a shallow unit against the wall. As you can see in the above diagram the TV only swivels approximately 12 degrees before it hits the wall. Our units have memory that store information as to where the unit should stop. This requires programming at the users end. Plasma & LCD TVs boast a viewing angle of 170˚, so it is not always necessary to swivel the TV for direct line of sight.
By placing the TV popup portion towards the front of a deeper unit. In this case the depth is 24" This allows enough depth for stereo receiver, VCR and DVD player. Now the TV can rotate up to 50˚, depending on the style of the cabinet. Again the limit switch must be programmed so swivel will not hit the wall.
A swivel unit at the foot of the bed or built into a footboard, can rotate 360˚ provided the cabinet is taller than the mattress.
When used behind a sofa, the unit swivels 180˚ allowing you to watch TV from two different rooms.
SPEAKER CONSIDERATIONS
By using recessed ceilings speakers from Speakercraft you can set up a surround sound system in your bedroom.
